Municipality of Val-de-Marne, in the Ile-de-France region, Ormesson-sur-Marne takes place ten kilometers from Créteil, not far from Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, Chennevières-sur-Marne or Joinville-le-Pont and its guinguettes. It is located about fifteen kilometers from Paris, on the borders of Brie and Seine-et-Marne.
The Ile-de-France town takes its name from the family Le Fèvre d'Ormesson installed here since the first half of the 17th century, in the former seigniory of Amboile. Originally a small agricultural village, Ormesson-sur-Marne developed in the course of the twentieth century, reaching today the 10,000 inhabitants.
