Empire-style castle built on the remains of a first building from the 14th century, the Bourgonnière castle takes place in the town of Orée d'Anjou, in Maine-et-Loire. The current estate consists of a fortified ensemble from the 14th century with a keep, a chapel of dressed Christ from the 16th century and a neoclassical castle from the beginning of the 19th century with a staircase from the 16th century.
In the surrounding woods, visitors can also admire the Chapel of Madame, a 17th century building that once served as a Protestant place of worship, as well as the 19th century Saint Joseph Chapel. The whole is the subject of a classification and an inscription in the Historic Monuments.
