A former Benedictine priory which once depended on the Notre-Dame de Vézelay chapel, the Sainte-Marie-Madeleine priory of Oizé was transformed into a dwelling following its sale as national property during the French Revolution.
The old chapel of the Sainte-Marie-Madeleine priory remains visible from the municipal road. In crozier sandstone, roussard sandstone and hard limestone, it shows traces of walled Romanesque and ogival windows, as well as a corner stone dating from the original Gallo-Roman construction. It benefits from a registration to the Historic Monuments.
