Charming little town of Seine-Maritime, in the Normandy region, Offranville takes place about sixty kilometers from the medieval city of Rouen, close to the Channel Sea. It is also located not far from Hautot-sur-Mer, Varengeville-sur-Mer and Sauqueville.

Populated since the Neolithic, as evidenced by the points of spears and other knives found in the fields of neighboring farmers, the territory of Offranville mainly began to develop in the 7th century with the creation of its village. However, it was not until the 19th century that the town finally took off, notably with the arrival of the railroad and the textile industry.

The diversity and richness of its natural landscapes never cease to attract visitors wishing to discover the attractions of Normandy.

Things to see and do

Built in the course of the 16th century, the Saint-Ouen church reveals a pure ogival style, with buttresses in particular applied to the flying buttresses of the side naves. Installed in the middle of the village, it takes place on the remains of a first building from the 10th century. The whole is surrounded by the old cemetery, a thousand-year-old yew and a very beautiful 19th century Calvary. Topped by a twisted steeple covered with slate, the church dedicated to Saint Ouen de Rouen unveils to its visitors a semi-elliptical beam of glory adorned with a dying Christ, the Virgin and Saint John, a 19th century pulpit. century of flamboyant style or beautiful colored stained-glass windows dating from different periods.

While strolling in the town, you can also admire the dovecotes, the William-Farcy park with its pleasure garden or the very pleasant park of the Château des Marettes.

Dedicated to the beloved painter of the town, the Jacques-Emile-Blanche museum brings together a large number of portraits, still lifes, scenes of wars and seascapes by the artist, as well as letters, memories, photographs and even his complete literary work.
