The Ligonnière Racecourse is located in the commune of Nuillé-sur-Vicoin, in the department of Mayenne, 10 km southwest of Laval.
Built at the end of the Second War, this racecourse has a unique specificity in France: 15 hectares large, it is crossed in a perfectly bucolic environment by a "real" river: the Vicoin. This makes it possible to host very spectacular cross-country races (a discipline that has become rare due in particular to the lack of specialized jockeys). Hence the loyalty of the public in the great west who appreciate these particular events.
Traditional trotting and galloping races are also organized thanks to the 1050 m grass track with left rope, which has a 300 m straight line.
Property of the company organizing the races, the Ligonnière racecourse offers two meetings each year: the first Sunday and Monday in October. Cross-country or trotting races give rise to betting.
The rest of the year, the site hosts occasional events (sports, leisure).
Entrance fee on race days: 6 euros.
