- Located 10 km east of Belfort, crossed by the river "La Madeleine", Novillard is a peaceful, rural municipality with three farms and three craftsmen (domestic heating, electricity and pool).
- In order to maintain its population for a pleasant living environment, the municipality involved for over 25 years in the Competition of Cities and Villages in bloom. She holds a flower in 2012 and second in 2015.
- A little history :
- The earliest mention of the village dates from 1251.
- In the Middle Ages, the lord of Rougemont has rights to Novillard, common forest then with the lordship of Ferrette.
- The limit was then symbolically marked by an oak.
- From 1307, when Belfort gets its franchises, Novillard part Provost of Angeot, one of the districts of the lordship of Belfort.
- In 1332 already, at the meeting of the lordship of Belfort to the county of Ferrette, the provost has its own organization.
- It includes two halls of Angeot and Novillard encompassing Rechotte, Autrage and Eschêne.
- In 1648, when the annexation of Alsace to the kingdom of France, the secular domain back to the Duke of Mazarin and his successors until the Revolution. Terminal bearing his image were found in the woods.
- In 1780 Novillard pass the diocese of Basel, that of Besancon.
- At the last census of 2019, the population of Novillard had 303 inhabitants.
