At 670 meters above sea level, the village, located on the pass of the same name, is located at the crossroads of Saint-Agrève, Lamastre, Vernoux-en-Vivarais and Le Cheylard.

Integrated into a Regional Park, the territory of the Nonières ideally invites, by its geography and its natural surroundings, hiking, horse riding and cycling, through marked trails, the Way of Compostela, the GR 420 and 427, the GR country. The topo-guides are available in town hall or at the Tourist Office of the Pays du Cheylard. The walk is also possible on the old railway line, connecting Lamastre Cheylard, where you will discover viaducts, tunnels and bridges.

A picnic area with a space for children is located at the entrance of the village, in the heart of a large green area with football fields, basketball and tennis.
The environment is an economic resource through the highly developed wood sector in the municipality. Different species of trees are found in the woods of the Bicentennial and the Third Millennium. Saint-Julien-Labrousse is a village overlooking the Eyrieux valley, steeped in history. The book "Du Serre des Mulets... Eyrieux" traces the history of the construction of this small isolated town, former dependence of the barony of Chalencon (classified village of character opening the doors of a secret universe, its narrow streets medieval, its grain measures, its enigmatic gallows...).
Do not miss the church rebuilt in the 17th century that gave a new lease of life to the local Catholic Church by dedicating the bell to Saint Regis. Then go back to the village square where the communal laundry is still in condition.
