Neuvic is a town of New Aquitaine located in the heart of Corrèze. Considered one of the most extensive in the department, it takes place in the Massif Central, about twenty kilometers from Ussel, west of the gorges of the Haute-Dordogne. According to historians, the commune would hold its name of the Gallo-Roman Novus vicus, meaning New Town. Considered as a city in its own right in the 13th century, Neuvic was the home of many religious over the centuries. Climatic resort and certified Blue Flag, it is today an important place of tourism in the region, offering an exceptional natural heritage, as well as beautiful monuments to discover during a stay within its walls.
Dynamic and lively, the small town of Neuvic seduces by its authenticity and its preserved traditions which give it an appreciable charm.
Created at the beginning of the XIXth century, the arboretum of the castle of Neuvic of Ussel is an agricultural park and landscaped to English. The Remarkable Garden and Family Plus label, it covers five hectares, revealing more than 300 species of trees from all over the world. A journey of about two kilometers allows to appreciate all these plants and admire Koï carps and other goldfish in the central water room. Children can also enjoy nature and tree-play games.
Inaugurated in the early 1980s by François Mitterrand and Jacques Chirac, the departmental museum of the Resistance Henri-Queuille traces the history of these courageous men who fought the invader during the Second World War. You will find many documents and other period objects. Also in tribute to the resistance, the monument of the puy Chaffaud was erected in 1949. Work of the sculptor Raymond Couvègnes, it represents a naked maquisard emerging from the woods with a grenade in the hand.
As you walk through Neuvic, you can also admire the Saint-Mexant tower built in the 16th century and listed as a Historic Monument, the Mialaret castle of the 19th century which now serves as a hotel restaurant or the castle The Chambon, of the fourteenth century, and its chapel of the fifteenth century.
On the Place du Marché, you will appreciate Le Chevrier, a bronze sculpture by Raymond Barthélémy, former winner of the Prix de Rome.
The lake of Neuvic, also called Lake Triouzoune, is labeled the Blue Flag of Europe and Handiplage. The site offers a supervised bathing in the summer period, a nautical base, fishing areas, games for children or even a golf.

The city also offers a national cockroach fair on 1 May, as well as a plant fair at the end of May. On Sunday before Christmas, the greasy fare offers various entertainment.
