Arranged in the town of Nantua, on a territory which was the scene of many large-scale actions of the Second World War, the museum of the History of the resistance and the deportation of Ain and Haut-Jura takes place in an old prison. The site reveals to its visitors the various heroic or tragic episodes that took place in the medal-winning city of the Resistance, as well as various essential themes such as the start of the war, daily life under the Occupation, the Vichy regime, the deportation or even maquis.
Visitors to the Museum of the History of the Resistance and the Deportation of Ain and Haut-Jura can here discover testimonies of resistance fighters, reconstructions or collections of posters, everyday objects or military equipment and uniforms.
Educational workshops, conferences and other temporary cultural events are also regularly offered there.
