Small village of Yonne, in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region, Moutiers-en-Puisaye takes place forty-five kilometers from Auxerre, not far from Saint-Fargeau, Treigny or Saint-Amand-en-Puisaye.
The one called Melered in Antiquity developed in the course of the Middle Ages thanks to its establishment cenobitic cited from the sixth century. Formerly an important druidic place, the municipality of Moutiers-en-Puisaye was also for a long time a great site of pilgrimage.
