City Mourmelon-le-Grand takes place in the department of Marne. One that houses one of the largest military camps in the country, is located in the district of Chalons-en-Champagne, about thirty kilometers from Reims.
With four flowers awarded to the contest flowered Towns of France, the city enjoys a pleasant and peaceful. Mourmelon-le-Grand is best known for his camp, created in 1856 by Napoleon III. The latter had the honor to host a large number of heads of state such as the Tsar Nicolas II, General de Gaulle or the former King of Spain Alfonso XIII.
