Built in the town of Mordelles, in Ille-et-Vilaine, the Château de La Haichois was erected at the end of the 19th century on the remains of a first building. Originally owned by the Count of Toulouse-Lautrec and his wife, Émilie de la Haichois, it is particularly known for its 17th century paneling in the large oriental-inspired living room.
The Château de La Haichois also has a very beautiful 17th century chapel and a dovecote from the same period. The whole is completed by an English park. Consisting of a main body flanked by projecting pavilions, a polygonal avant-corps and a circular tower, the building comprises a basement floor with an English courtyard, a square floor and an attic floor. In cut stone for the shell, it is also in granite for the base and in limestone with brick bands for the elevation.
