Small mainly agricultural commune where we raise sheep and goats and where they grow nuts, Montvalent is located on one of the roads of the Limousin pilgrimage down to join Saint-Jacques de Compostela via Rocamadour.
Until the mid-twentieth century, there was a train station, two fairs deemed lambs and a school. Today, because of the rural exodus, the station and school are closed but hikers and pilgrims march through the streets of this town in full renovation, recognized as one of the finest in the region with its new hall built the old by "artist-craftsmen."
