Castle of the Bas-Plessis

Monument in Montrevault-sur-Èvre

Today listed as a Historic Monument, the Château du Bas-Plessis is an old fortified castle now in ruins. Visitors can still admire on the site two round towers with conical roofs covered with slates. An Empire-style castle was erected next to it and is still visible.

The Château du Bas-Plessis is surrounded by a hundred hectare park with trees of different species. It is possible to discover the remains of an ancient temple or a monument to Jacques Cathelineau.
