Located at Mont-Dauphin, in the Hautes-Alpes department, the Saint-Louis church saw its construction begin in 1663, at the same time as that of the fortified town. In 1713, the Treaty of Utrecht interrupts the work, which will then resume until 1748. For lack of credits from the inhabitants, it remains unfinished.
Dangerous in the middle of the nineteenth century, the church of Saint-Louis sees its deteriorated parts destroyed, while retaining its Doric style. Never finished, she still stands proudly in the city, and now presents only her choir walled up to the transept.
