The archaeological site of Pallas is located on the territory of Mèze, a commune of Hérault which borders the pond of Thau.
Away from the city, to the north, it contains the remains (in this case, the apse) of a 10th century church dedicated to Saint Paul, the construction of which evokes Carolingian techniques. Elements are also representative of older know-how (Roman antiquity).
The village of Pallas would then have developed then would have given way to the city of Mèze, on the edge of the pond.
According to historians, the church and the village of Pallas depended on the Abbey of Sainte-Foy-de-Conques.
These remains located on private property but protected as historical monuments can mark out a walk during a stopover at Mèze or Sète. Information on +33 4 67 18 30 30.
