Village character, midway between the Ardeche Mountains and Gorges of the Ardèche, Aubenas 15 kilometers from the RN 102 towards Le Puy and the heart of Parc Naturel Régional des Monts d'Ardèche Meyras, offers, in a calm and relaxing, a real cure of nature. You will find the streets and alleys of Meyras twelve scenes painted trompe l'oeil, depicting village life in the 1920s.
To guide you in your journey, the panels are installed in some streets, but you can buy the accompanying documents, from the Tourist Office or the Office of Animation.
The Romans founded the baths, the Middle Ages built its castles, geology and volcanism have carved great landscapes.
Meyras, medieval village, also allows you to appreciate its historical and architectural heritage: Romanesque church Saint Etienne (bell tower of the twelfth century), castles of Ventadour (possibility to visit in July and August) and Hautségure (private), rue Grande (Renaissance period with beautiful stone buildings...).

The castle of Ventadour (12th century) stands at an altitude of 373 m, at the intersection of two valleys, La Fontaulière and Ardèche, a sentry guarding the entrance to the commune of Meyras. Until the Revolution, the castle was called Meyras castle from the name of the village located two kilometers away. The name of Ventadour is much more recent. It appears in the texts after the revolution and has for origin the name of the family, undoubtedly the most powerful to which the castle belonged: The Ventadour, dukes and Pairs of France, probably the last owners of the castle to have resided there. Guided tours in July-August-September and October every day from 9h to 12h and 14h to 19h except Saturday morning and Sunday morning.
The association "In search of discovery" invites you to discover the village of character of Meyras. A country animator "Dédé l'Ardéchois" will guide you on the course of "frescoes" and will open, for you, the drawers of his cabinet with stories. It will take you on a stroll out of the ordinary in the most authentic neighborhoods of the medieval village. From the Saint Etienne church to the washhouse, another way to immerse yourself in the soft, mysterious atmosphere of Meyras, at sunset... Every Monday in July and August, meet at 8:30 pm in front of the church door.

Ecomuseum Spinning at Chirols: In a site characteristic of the early 19th century, basically a large shady park along the Fontaulière, come walk in the new museum, completely renovated, the Living Museum of Spinning. In the cool of the "factory", a scenic course presents the skill of throwing. For over three centuries, this industry, nestled in the valleys, made the Ardèche a major industrial departments of France.
