A classroom like the old days, which smells of chalk, real wood and old paper. At the museum of the rural school of Messeix, we write in pen and purple ink...
To better immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the school era of the 1930s, and after a visit to the cloakroom where young and old put on the black or gray blouse and high or low galoshes, everyone enters the class, an authentic class of the 1930s. A commentary adapted to the age of the audience on the history of the Jules Ferry's school precedes the page of writing in purple ink... The facilitator plays her role of teacher during the time of the "Hussars of the Republic" and very quickly visitors get caught up in this classroom. The visit ends with a page of writing in pen and purple ink.
In the exhibition room adjoining the classroom, you will discover riches. Objects that speak to you: from the celluloid baby doll to slate pencils through various collections of blotters, notebook covers, class photos, all these objects bear witness to the progress made since that time.
