Listed as an historic monument for its facades and roofs, the Fontcastel charterhouse in Mérignac, in the Gironde, was erected in the course of the 18th century. Sitting on a basement, the building has above its main entrance a circular pediment pierced with a bull's eye. On the north facade, visitors can discover an entrance staircase with a wrought iron banister.
In the park, there is a very beautiful fountain from the 17th century decorated with shell niches. Private property, the Fontcastel Charterhouse is not accessible to visitors.
