Commune of Haute-Saône, Mélisey takes place in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region, at the foot of the Vosges Saônoises. It is located nine kilometers from Lure, and about fifteen kilometers from Luxeuil-les-Bains. The city is also a member of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park.
Occupied from the early Middle Ages, Mélisey was an important commercial town in the 15th century, before becoming a textile industrial city as early as the 19th century. If this economy declines in the middle of the 20th century, the municipality has retained many vestiges.
Proud of its heritage and preserved nature, the commune of Mélisey still has a real tourist interest today. Between the period buildings and the preserved natural areas, there is no shortage of sites to discover during a stay in the region.
