Marmoutier is a small town enjoying a framework of environmental quality, located 6 km from Saverne (TGV), 30 km from Strasbourg and 10 km from the Route des Vins d'Alsace.
Marmoutier has a tourism potential largely guided by its natural surroundings (many hiking paths and mountain biking trails: there are over 1000 km of marked trails of the surrounding countries) and its cultural riches. The city is home to the magnificent abbey church of Saint-Martin, founded around 590 by Irish monks. Many other sites to visit in the town and a museum and Heritage Interpretation Centre dedicated to organ and flutes.
