House Le Moué

Monument in Malestroit

The Le Moué house is located in the commune of Malestroit, in the Morbihan department, 19 km northeast of Questembert.

It is located on rue du Général de Gaulle (formerly Grand Rue), in the historic center of the town.

Built in the 16th century, it has a floor topped with an attic, the ground floor in the form of a gallery still being occupied by a business.

The half-timbered floor has a beautifully crafted corbel.

The property, still private, is listed in the Inventory. You can admire its charm during a free or guided walk in this small town, now labeled a City of Character and which developed around its church during the Middle Ages. Its bourgeois residences reflect its commercial prosperity at the beginning of the Renaissance, when Malestroit was the seat of one of the nine baronies of Brittany.
