Municipality of the Loire, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Mably takes place in the agglomeration of Roanne, ninety kilometers from Saint-Étienne. It is located not far from Perreux, Vougy and Saint-Germain-Lespinasse, on the banks of the Loire.
Created in the Gallo-Roman period, at the same time as the town of Roanne, Mably has been an important breeding ground and tile industry since the Middle Ages. It also experienced significant growth at the end of the 1910s with the establishment of an arsenal still present today.
Mably still continues to attract passing visitors to the region, not only for its proximity to some of the most beautiful tourist sites, but also for its traditional architecture and industrial heritage.
