Following a flood and a complete renovation, the Promenade Museum of Louveciennes became in 2020 the museum of the Royal Domain of Marly. Within this castle from the second half of the 17th century, the pleasure residence of Louis XIV, visitors take a real journey back in time.
A special place, the Domaine royal de Marly museum offers history lovers the opportunity to feel like a guest of the king, in a unique residence which once only welcomed a few hand-picked officials.
On site, we discover rooms dedicated to the architecture of Marly, as well as its gardens. Another space allows you to learn the secrets of the Marly machine, a development of the Seine which supplied the water features in the king's gardens.
The rest of the tour, more intimate, presents the art of living at the castle, as well as the historical figures who have left their mark on it, such as the Duke of Orléans or Madame de Maintenon.
