Things to see and do

A former medieval castle, the Château de Lourdon, which controlled access to Cluny Abbey, is a private property that can only be visited on an exceptional basis during the European Heritage Days. In ruins, it still presents a part of the foundations of the surrounding wall, a circular tower half destroyed, and a tower whose upper floor emerges from the embankments.

While strolling in the village, you will also be able to discover five 19th century wash houses, medieval watchtowers, an exceptional number of dry stone walls inherited from the agrarian history, as well as cadoles, shelters for farmers, shepherds or winemakers from the past.

Lournand is also on one of the pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela.
