Small village of Provence, in the department of Vaucluse, Loriol-du-Comtat takes place just a few kilometers from Carpentras, on the banks of the Mede and Brégoux. It is located about twenty kilometers from Avignon and its Palais des Papes, at the foot of Mont Ventoux and Dentelles de Montmirail.
Populated since prehistoric times, the territory of Loriol-du-Comtat developed in the Middle Ages with the arrival of Cistercian monks who founded the Abbey of Sénanque in the 12th century. Located in the heart of an agricultural plain, it is surrounded by vineyards producing Côtes-du-Rhône and AOC Ventoux.
