Town of Finistère in Brittany, Locquirec is located in the district of Morlaix, on the shores of the Channel. At the limit of Finistere and Cotes d'Armor, the resort has settled on the peninsula that stretches into the bay of Lannion, offering a breathtaking panorama over the western part of the pink granite coast.
Several beaches make up the city of Locquirec, to enjoy all the pleasures of the sea, from simple relaxation to the practice of water sports. It was towards the end of the nineteenth century that the city experienced its rise as a seaside resort, thanks to the organization of regattas and the construction of many villas and other beachfront hotels.
The town was made famous by including the filming of The Hotel room, Michael Lang, which took place partly in the Grand Hotel des Bains in 1977.
Pleasant little seaside resort in Brittany, Locquirec has some beautiful monuments to enjoy the long walks in the streets or along the sea.
Built in the seventeenth century, the church of Locquirec was classified historic monument in 1914. Its architectural interest lies mainly in its vault of the choir and transepts is polychromed. Also listed as a historic monument, the cemetery adjoining the church is no lack of interest with its ancient tombs and mausoleums.
The manor of White Island, built in the seventeenth century, is a fine example of stone architecture Locquirec, this beautiful limestone shale green-blue color. The buildings is organized in U around the courtyard and the roofs are covered with slate. The mansion Island White is inspired by an English castle offered by King Henry VIII to the archbishopric of Canterbury. It now belongs to the Congregation of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit and you can admire a crucifix made of four life-size figures representing the Entombment of Christ.
Always visible, the Grand Hotel des Bains in 1977 hosted the filming of Michel Lang, Guy Marchand, The Hotel from the beach.
Also note the bread oven of the seventeenth century in the district of Pennenez surrounded by blue schist houses restored.
City Locquirec home to several beaches, to always find a beach sheltered from the wind, whatever the time of day. Harbor beach, the central, Pors Ar Villec, White Sands, the Moulin de la Rive, and the beach of the Bay of Fund can practice various water activities such as windsurfing or fishing on foot, very popular in the region. When walking, it is possible to admire the cliffs that form Locquirec different tips.

The Locquirec food market is held every Wednesday morning throughout the year. The city also organizes a Christmas market at the beginning of December, in the square of the marina. In August, large flea market moved into the main streets of Locquirec.
In summer, in August, more precisely, place Loki festival, the music festival Locquirec. On this occasion, various local artists perform in the resort, with a seated restoration.
In early August, the resort offers the Navy Night with many events. Everywhere in the city are organized a competition of sand castles, boat trips, a parade of sailboats, fireworks or concerts.
Each September, is the scene of Locquirec Trikoki, triathlon of the city. Swimming, cycling and running are planned for this sporting event of importance in the region.
