Livarot-Pays-d'Auge - Tourism, holidays & weekends guide in the Calvados

Located 2 hours from Paris by car, the central position of Livarot in the Pays d'Auge makes it the ideal residence for travel around the region.

In the foothills of the grove, apple cider house the famous Norman cows. At a bend where you hike on foot, horseback or bicycle, you learn manors and farmhouses with wood sides, so picturesque.

The area offers gourmands a panel of local products: cider, calvados and pommel, and cheeses, poultry, beef and farm products.

Two thousand years, the city of Livarot preserves the memory of the Roman times when it was known for its production of iron. The nineteenth century saw its industrial development (cheese, cheese factory boxes, cider...). If life seems calm there, not Livarot nonetheless an important employment area, always in industry (cheese, cider mills, printing, wire drawing, furniture...), and artisanal and commercial as well.
