Building of the second half of the nineteenth century, the town hall of Limoges takes the heart of downtown, revealing its visitors an elegant neo-Renaissance style. Listed historic monument, it is located at the site of a former ancient forum and draws heavily from the Paris City Hall.
The main facade in limestone mixes harmoniously the styles of the late Renaissance and Louis XIII and presents portraits of four important personalities of the city, Leonard Limosin, Chancellor d'Aguesseau, the revolutionary Vergniaud and Marshal Jourdan of Empire.
Outside, the square has a beautiful fountain porcelain, bronze and granite of the late nineteenth century, ideal for a short break in the city.
