Limeray is a small village of Indre-et-Loire located about 10 km from the town of Amboise, in the region Loire Valley, 30 km from Tours, capital of Touraine.
The common activity is mainly oriented towards cultural tourism, having also obtained the label Cities and Countries of Art and History in 2008, as well as wine tourism, making particular part of the famous wine route of Touraine in the heart of the vineyards of the Loire Valley.
The history of Limeray is old, witnessed the Saint-Saturnin church, whose oldest remains date from the eleventh century and the audience, a former courthouse, built in the fourteenth century.
The village also has a real attraction landscaped, with obtaining in 2009 the label Towns and Villages in Bloom (1 flower), a symbol of its commitment to combine quality of life, environmental preservation and social ties.
The church of Saint-Saturnin is the main monument to visit during your stay in Limeray.
The building of Romanesque architecture, built in the eleventh century by the lord Hugues Limeray and remodeled in Gothic style between the twelfth and sixteenth century, was included in the inventory of Historical Monuments in 1926. Its bell tower Type novel, renovated after its collapse, is also the only part classified monument church history. Father Blaise, priest and collector, who settled in the town in the 1870s, has made the Saint-Saturnin church a museum. It has the largest number of statues of the department in fact, most classified as an historic monument.
Strolling through the village streets during a tour organized by the Pays Loire Touraine, you can admire and let tell the story of cave habitats, the old wash house and other newer buildings. The town is also listed since 2000 on the UNESCO list of World Heritage.
The audience, a former courthouse, is a jewel of the town, that one can discover during guided tours organized Limeray. The house, built in the fourteenth century belongs to a private owner, which opens its doors just during these visits. We can still admire the façade of the building Rue d'Enfer. Classified as an historic monument in 1968, it is one of the few Middle Age courthouse recorded in France.

Circuits of hiking from the place of Limeray to wash also invite the traveler to enjoy the beauty of the Loire Valley landscapes.
Every Thursday morning, the Limeray market is held in the washhouse square, in the center of the town.
In April, the music school of Limeray organizes the "Rando-Saxo", with the program a 10 km hike punctuated by musical entertainment during the walk, as well as on arrival, with snack and glass of friendship.
