Before the Revolution, a group of residents named Liézey depended on the town of Granges. The common story is closely linked to that of the parish. During the Revolution, Father Jacques Georgel, pastor of Deycimont, took refuge with his father at the mill of Liézey, gathering around him the faithful who, in October 1790 asking administrators Bruyeres district permission to build a church parish to Liézey, invoking the harsh winter and the remoteness of their respective parishes. The construction of the church, rectory and school house and is completed in late 1795 with the participation of the inhabitants. This church is attached to the parish Saint-Gérard-de-la-Vallée-des-Lacs. The steps for construction of the town parish lead May 26, 1836 when a royal decree includes sections belonging to the municipalities of Gerardmer, Granges-sur-Vologne and Champdray and creates the common Liézey.
