The Esperance golf course (also known as Trois-Îlets) is located in the town of Trois-Îlets, in the south-west of Martinique.
Now managed by local authorities, it remains to this day the only course on the island.
The golf course covers 64 hectares between sea and hills. It was laid out in 1976 according to the plans of the architect Robert Trent-Jones, to whom we also owe several major golf courses in metropolitan France, such as those of Chamonix and La Grande Motte. In an idyllic setting with relief descending towards the sea and lush vegetation, the 5812 m long course is a "par 71". Note that the outward journey, that is to say the first 9 holes, is easier than the return (the other 9 holes), considered more technical. Two holes thus require crossing an arm of the sea. The others are also lined with facetious bunkers or bodies of water…
A clubhouse and practices are accessible. Open every day. Visitor rate: from 32 euros (9 holes) and 46 euros (full course).
