Common new Jura region Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Les Trois Châteaux take place at about thirty kilometers from Lons-le-Saunier, close to Salavre, Thoissia and Coligny. She was born in January 2016 from the merger of the towns of Chazelles The Aubépin and Nanc-lès-Saint-Amour. In January 2019 it was added that of Saint-Jean-d'Etreux.
Elder, the territory of the Three Castles was inhabited since the Roman times but has mainly developed from the Middle Ages. The old towns are historically linked by their membership in the former manor of the Aubépin. The latter was erected in the county in the mid-seventeenth century.
Today the Jura city continues to attract visitors with its charming natural landscape as much as by its architectural and historical heritage of great interest.
