The commune of-Essarts-le-Roi, in Yvelines, in the Île-de-France region, takes place about twenty kilometers from Versailles and its magnificent royal castle. It is located not far from Maurepas, Senlisse and Dampierre-en-Yvelines, combining the charm of the countryside with the dynamism of city life.
Old, the commune of Essarts-le-Roi was founded at the end of the 10th century by royal decision of Hugues Capet. Property of the Duchess of Brittany from the beginning of the 13th century, it subsequently became the property of the Lords of Rambouillet. The current town now consists of the former territory of Essarts-le-Roi and that of the city of Layes, since the first half of the 19th century.
This charming city of Ile-de-France now attracts visitors through the richness of its architectural heritage, but also by the softness of its landscapes.
