Les Deux Alpes are a common Isere, region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, 70 km southeast of Grenoble.
If the municipality was created on 1 January 2017, sports resort of Deux Alpes winters in the Ecrins Mountains, has existed since 1930 and was spread on the localities of Mont-de-Lans and Venosc which eventually merge.
Initiated by pioneers before the second war (implantation of a first ski lift in 1938) is starting 1950 as the station takes off, adopting its name in 1954, the tracks being on the mountain pastures of two cities...
The residences are developed at the slopes before either built a new pole, "The Village", north-east, center of the old village of Venosc remains more typical.
With a little more than 2 000 permanent inhabitants but more than 30,000 residents in the season Les Deux Alpes was the first resort to offer daily ski passes.
The Deux Alpes resort offers skiing in winter and summer. It also opens the Thanksgiving holiday. The station is also directly accessible from the village of Vénosc by gondola Venosc-Les 2 Alpes, summer and winter.
Its success is the importance of its ski area (over 220 km of tracks) of which remains snow covered and accessible to skiers in summer. A funicular and fifty "traditional" ski lifts operate between the bottom of the slopes (1650 m) and heights (3500 m).
Very lively and with plenty of activities for fans of winter sports lovers as natural mountain environments Les Deux Alpes consistently ranks in the best French stations in terms of attendance.

Mont-de-Lans:
- The Roman Gate Coupons is located below the village of Good, in the municipality of Mont-de-Lans, on the downward path to Chatelard and Bourg-d'Oisans. It is a monumental arch carved into the rock, the tool marks are clearly visible on the walls. A half arch, with an opening of 3 meters and a boom 1 meter dominates the whole. At ground level, its width is 2 m 50, a seat 50 cm the borders on both sides. A cornice elegantly marks the birth of the arc. The soil is a very smooth rock on which are clearly very different two deep grooves, from 6 to 15 cm, and having a gap ranging from 1 m 41-1 m 48. In many places the road, these traces are found.
- The presence of this book worked in the countryside, far from habitation pose many questions. The sculptors who carved certainly wanted to mean something, the current assumption is that it symbolizes the halfway from Grenoble to Briancon, and could also serve as a toll station. Héricart Thury reports two doors under Coupons, in the early nineteenth century. The second, downstream, would have collapsed very early, but when visiting Florian Vallentin, in 1876 and 1877, he reveals that he noticed the remains of this second door, 50 meters downstream. The land registry of Mont-de-Lans appears to have retained this memory, since the locality is called "Doors" and not the door.
- Florian Vallentin also notes in Mont-de-Lans, the presence of a bank of rocks with hands cut, "at the foot of Calvary" which attest the passage of the Roman road in this place.
- The Roman Gate Coupons is registered as historic monuments by order of 10 April 2014.
- House traditions and arts of Mont de Lans, Municipal Museum, opened in 1993, it aims to preserve and display objects of the old life in Oisans. In the old rectory restored, six rooms with different themes await you behind a big old door.
- In the first two, there are two permanent exhibitions where you guide the votes of the locals. Listen, you go into their privacy. They evoke the activities that there are few, if practiced still much en Oisans. The second is the reconstruction of a stable, house the farm tools.
- Upstairs, you will fly over the territory of Mont-de-Lans and will be presented to the famous hawkers Uissans. You will also visit the Chambon dam and its hamlets swallowed.
- The attic is reserved for temporary exhibitions following: Copies Masters painted by residents, The Hawking, the Alpe De Deux Alpes, Mont-de-Lans and its hamlets, The sun has an appointment with the moon, Mont the Year 2000, the Gate and the Roman Way of Oisans. The Chasal Lento introduced in 2014 "missing hamlets" memories of some people on the villages of yesteryear.
