A medieval building located in the town of Baugé-en-Anjou, the manor of Clairefontaine comes from an old wine barn from the 13th and 16th centuries. Transformed into a pleasure manor in the 15th century, it is embellished with a 12th century chapel which once belonged to the Cistercian abbey of Notre-Dame du Loroux.
Today listed as a Historic Monument, the manor of Clairefontaine is accessible by guided and costumed tour for children. The opportunity to discover the medieval interior with the partitioned staircase and the inverted boat hull framework. Visitors will also be able to admire the antique furniture and other tapestries before heading to the fifty-hectare park with flower gardens, vegetable patch, ponds and domestic animals.
A treasure hunt and dramatized visits are offered in season.
