Le Vaudoué

Le Vaudoué is part of the Community of Communes of the Country of Fontainebleau, but also of the Regional Natural Park of Gâtinais, and adheres, like all the communes of this park, to the charter of preservation and sustainable and reasoned development.

Quoted from 1220 under the name of "Val d'Oé", the name of Vau is synonymous with "val" or "valley" and the germain "aug" or "augo" meaning water. The School River has its source in Vaudoué.

The local agrifood products are peppermint, watercress and honey, all labeled "Marque Parc".

Le Vaudoué is in the center of the Trois Pignons massif, in the forest of Fontainebleau, which is known hikers and climbers.

End of September-beginning of October: Evening listening of the deer slab in Fontainebleau's exceptional forest. At night, the forest regains its calm, another atmosphere sets in, it becomes more mysterious and more wonderful at the same time. This is an opportunity to awaken all your senses during this walk that will make you discover the nightlife of animals and hear the hoarse cry of the deer. The ride is done with respect for the integrity of the animal. In no case will you approach Deer, for your safety and for theirs. These nights of listening to the slab take place at the center of Ecotourism Franchard.
Discover the history of the castle of Fontainebleau, over the centuries. A dedicated itinerary takes you to the meeting of sovereigns who have followed one another at Fontainebleau, from Francis I to Napoleon III, and you discover the emblematic places of the castle, such as the François Ier gallery or the Galerie des Cerfs, the Petits Appartements, the Imperial Theater, the Chinese Museum and the Emperor's Office of Work.
The "Scandibérique", you know? With more than 1700 km of bike paths in France including 56 km in South Seine-et-Marne along the Seine and the Loing, it leaves from Norway and goes to Spain, and you figure it goes through here. Between Bois-le-Roi and Souppes-sur-Loing, his career in a few points:

From the Bois-le-Roi train station, heading towards the car park behind the post office, you will quickly find the directional sign of the Scandinavian mentioning information on the signs and the tourist attractions of the sites and villages crossed.
You will start by crossing Bois-le-Roi by the beautiful descent of the street Chantemerle and will join the Seine at the Quai de la Ruelle towards Fontainebleau. An opportunity to admire the Belle Epoque villas on the banks of the Seine.
Then you will share with the hikers a path laid out to join again the quays of the Seine without having to cross the departmental, and take on the right the direction of the base of leisures.
At the footbridge on the dam, continue straight on the street of Ile Saint-Pierre.
You are not far from crossing the leisure base of Bois-le-Roi where you can take a break on the picnic areas, quench your thirst or swim before heading back to a path along the Seine in the direction of Samois-sur-Seine.
Road to Samois, you will once again have the opportunity to admire the beautiful villas of Fontaine-le-Port and a bucolic environment. You arrive then at the level of this magnificent walk of Petit Barbeau on the edge of the Seine, sheltered from the forest and very beautiful trees, an environment rather campaign and rich of observations.
At the end of chemin du Petit Barbeau, you will cross this village of Samois-sur-Seine that looks like a small marina with its restaurants, bars and flowered terraces overlooking the Seine and its barges.
Continue straight on the Quai de la République, at the end of the platform, at the stop sign, take the bridge over the Seine to join "Ile au Cerceau" where was organized for nearly 50 years the famous jazz festival " Django Reinhardt "(now organized in the park of the Château de Fontainebleau).
At the end of the island, take the Franklin Roosevelt quay on the left and go straight ahead to enter the hamlet "Plastereries". Throughout this route you can admire the "maddening" Samois, these holiday villas built during the Belle Epoque.
At the end of the town of Samois-sur-Seine before the bridge Valvins, turn left under the bridge (road Valvins) to the stop on the road, part of this path is unfortunately not still laid out.
Pass under the bridge of Valvins and follow the road to the stop which joins the departmental. Then turn right to reach the roundabout and, at the roundabout, take the first right to cross the bridge. We advise you to set foot on the ground for crossing the bridge that is busy and not yet developed. In the right turn do not miss the walk Stéphane Mallarmé and on the left engage on the towpath along the Seine at Vulaines-sur-Seine to the clearing on the campsite Grange aux Dîmes in Samoreau.
When you are there, take the "Chemin de l'eauoir" and the rue de l'Eglise on the way to the other side of the barrier, so you will be safe from traffic. Then take the "Champagne road" with low traffic and further the road of the "fours du Roy" quieter, plus a country road with splendid views of the Seine.
Continue to Saint-Mammès... At the entrance, turn right at the exit of the bridge to reach via the "Quai du Loing", the Scandibérique clearly indicated by the signs in place.
Cross the alleys crisscrossing the gardens of the mariners of this village which was originally a fishing village, then later played a very important role in the Seine-Ile.
Find your way on the Scandibérique, straight at the exit of the bridge.
You arrive at Moret-sur-Loing. Leaving the village and just before the lock of Moret-sur-Loing, join to the right the towpath along the Loing canal and for 6 km the ride is beautiful.
You will arrive in the village of Episy. In the center of the village, take the bridge opposite the Episy inn. You will find the towpath right at the roundabout of the hostel. You are now on the left bank of the canal. Opposite There is Montigny-sur-Loing and a circuit project is emerging between La Chapelle La Reine (Marlanville) and Montigny / Moret to join the Scandibérique... Not only a dream it seems.
At the exit of the village of Episy, you will cross a Sensitive Natural Area (ENS), protecting the birds and especially the gray herons of the marsh of Episy. Continue your journey by staying on the towpath. Crossing villages, you will see beautiful homes overlooking the canal, like the town hall of Montcourt-Fromonville. At the entrance of Nemours, take the bridge to change banks and reach near the lock of Nemours.
Nothing prevents you to take a break to visit Nemours and its ancient medieval city (buildings of the twelfth century, Hôtel Dieu du XVI^e, Castle Museum not to be missed and Hôtel de Ville...).
After this break, leave Nemours, bypassing the city center. For this, at the lock you will cross to join the street of the Ecluse on the right bank.
Change banks at the Paris street and join the canal quay on the left bank, follow the course Balzac and quai des Mariniers. At the end, after crossing the road at the exit of Nemours, take the towpath to a large landscaped promenade crossing St-Pierre les Nemours, continue between "Loing canalised" and "wild Loing".
You continue along the Loing Canal on the left by this dirt path, sometimes grassed for about thirty kilometers while participating in the surrounding life. On the course, apart from flights of wild ducks, the beauty and tranquility of the landscapes you will cross, are as many pleasant memories that you will carry. Arrived at the lock of the Madeleine-sur-Loing, cross to change the bank on which you will stay until Souppes-sur-Loing.
If you came by train to Bois-le-Roi, you can reach the station by crossing the canal after the silos and warehouses of the port of Souppes-sur-Loing. Towards the center of Souppes-sur-Loing, go over three bridges over the Loing "wild". After the last bridge, turn right on Rue Voltaire. At the end of this street, in front of the church, turn left into Rue de la République.
Go in front of you the subway that crosses the railway and then take twice right to reach the train station Souppes-sur-Loing.
