Le Valtin

The small village of Le Valtin is located in the Vosges. It takes place not far from the famous town of Gerardmer in the district of Saint-Die-des-Vosges. First village crossed by the Meurthe, whose source is close, Le Valtin is best known to house within it a ski resort popular.

The town as we know it today was created in the late thirteenth century. It was long a center of iron ore mining in the Middle Ages. Today, this small village with typical architecture of the Vosges turned mainly on tourism and agriculture.

Le Valtin is a quiet and full of charm town in which to spend a few days to find rest away from the city bustle. Hiking and other outdoor activities found their paradise Le Valtin.

Things to see and do

The picturesque village of Le Valtin, located 750 meters above sea level, especially worth visiting for its landscapes and other passes that surround it. Exceptional panoramas can admire the most beautiful natural sites in the region.

Various hiking trails and allow to enjoy the rocks of Valtin, the pretty waterfall RUNDSTEIN, or the nature reserve of the grass-Tanet Faing with its flora and fauna.

Built in the early eighteenth century, the church Saint-Sylvestre mountain presents an interesting architecture.

On the town, a cross country ski track can connect La Schlucht to the slopes of the White Lake. It is possible to discover the joys of skiing or snowshoeing. The Schlucht is the starting point of several hiking trails.
