Enjoying direct access to the motorway, the town of Sequestre is located less than 45 minutes from Toulouse, the capital of the Midi-Pyrenees.
Located just steps from the city of Albi and enjoying a magnificent view of the Cathedral World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the town has preserved its forests, hills and green environment.
Since 2001, the Municipality has set itself the objective of harmonious development in respect of its environment and its nearly 1,600 residents, Sequestrois.
The town takes its name from a transaction of 1368 ("Sequestrum Castri veteris") in which this portion of the former community of Castelviel is "sequestered", confiscated by the King.
