At the heart of a vast bay, the scene of the biggest tides in Europe, Le Mont-Saint-Michel was both a center of pilgrimage, abbey, fortress and prison??

"The Wonder of the West" is now a major tourist destination, world heritage of UNESCO. The medieval streets, ramparts and Abbey Millennium carry visitors in that story.

Things to see and do

Le Mont-Saint-Michel, in the middle of the bay, welcomes nearly 3.5 million visitors each year, pilgrims or simple tourists.

At the entrance of this medieval city, the former Guards Corps of the Bourgeois, facing the guns, houses the Tourist Office. Passing the Porte du Boulevard, then the King's door with a drawbridge, you meet the Grande Rue with its museums, shops and houses of the 15th and 16th centuries (the passage of the drawbridge also leads on your right, To the road of the ramparts).

The parish church, a small building from the 15th and 16th centuries, is dedicated to Saint-Pierre, patron saint of fishermen.

Finally, the ascent of the Grand Degre is a prelude to the Marvel and the visit of the Abbey.

After admiring the Abbey, you will be able to admire the incomparable beauty of the Bay by going down the ramparts path, or by choosing the round path on your left, dotted with small gardens, which you also have access to by the Porch of the Fanils.

Do not hesitate to visit Le Mont-Saint-Michel at sunset: A real journey through time, a scenography allows the public to leave to meet the history, driven by a soft music... Follow the marked itinerary During which pictorial projections of interior and monumental transform space and metamorphose the Marvel...
