Things to see and do

Country village, Le Mêle-sur-Sarthe is a haven of peace in which the old architecture and lush landscaping blend with taste.

Admitted to additional directory of Historical Monuments, the church of Our Lady of the Assumption was built in the nineteenth century in an elegant neoclassical style. The chorus reveals beautiful paintings of angels while the nave is ringed with colored columns.

Green resort, the village of Mele-sur-Sarthe in it also hosts a popular leisure center. Created between 1969 and 1975, Lake Country Mêlois reveals visitors a supervised beach, fishing areas, paddle boats, mini golf, tennis courts, a campsite, or even games for kids. Picnic areas are also proposed to enjoy a sunny afternoon in the Orne.

The weekly market is held every Wednesday morning.

In October, the Racont'arts festival offers a week of free storytelling shows in different media centers of the country of Alencon, whose Le Mêle-sur-Sarthe.

Frequently Asked Percheron foal to discover the finest specimens of the country at the end of November for the St. Andrew. You will enjoy the shoeing demonstrations, photo exhibitions and painting, as well as equine competition.

In December, a Christmas market to discover local artisans in a festive atmosphere.
