The castle of Grand-Pressigny takes place in the Indre-et-Loire, about sixty kilometers from Tours. Located upstream of the village of the same name, overlooking the Claise Valley, it dates from the 12th century. Heavily modified in the 15th and 16th centuries, it is now classified as an historic monument.
The site today consists of a partially collapsed dungeon, the oldest part, thirty-five meters, and a Renaissance home built in the sixteenth century. The Château du Grand-Pressigny, completed by a modern building from the late 2000s, now houses a museum of prehistory. It brings together collections from successive cultures in the region since the Middle Paleolithic. In particular, we discover a large number of tools based on flint.
Animations are regularly offered, as well as discovery workshops around Prehistory.
