Municipality of the Eastern Pyrenees, in the heart of Cerdagne, Latour-de-Carol, lies at an altitude of 1209 meters, not far from the Spanish border. This proximity with its Iberian neighbor, the village has developed a cosmopolitan culture full of charm.
This former agricultural and pastoral village, was the eighteenth to the nineteenth century, an important center of negotiations and trade. It was the arrival of the Yellow Train, in the 1920s, which developed tourism in this village, and allowed the establishment of an international station celebrated by Brigitte Fontaine in one of his songs.

On the heights of the town, on a rocky outcrop, the parish church of Saint-Etienne, dating from the fifteenth century, offers a beautiful view of the Cerdagne architecture. The latter was built on the remains of the chapel of the castle of Latour-de-Carol. Access to the site through a monumental staircase to admire the collection of altarpieces.
