This building in neo-Gothic style designed by architect Aymon Mallay in 1852, was opened in 1855 and expanded in 1886.
It is dedicated to Saint Pardoux that popular belief credited with many miraculous cures paralyzed with sources, which explains the presence of his cult at Mont-Dore.
This church is unusual because neither plan nor its orientation is faithful to tradition. In fact it does not have the usual shape of a cross, and it is oriented to the north when the tradition wants the tour to the East.
But the real novelty of this church lies in the modernity and quality of its interior design, developed on the theme of water.
