Built in the middle of the 19th century, on the eponymous rock, the Lavardin lighthouse stands proudly in the town of La Rochelle, giving access to its seaport. This horizontally striped turret in black and red is nearly fifteen meters high and enables the Lavardin plateau to be marked out in order to facilitate access to the ports of La Rochelle and La Pallice.
