Pouancé:
Pouancé is located in the department of Maine-et-Loire and the region Pays de la Loire. The territory includes the city of Pouancé itself, as well as the village of Saint-Aubin. Its inhabitants are called Pouancéen (ne) s.
Since the Middle Ages, Pouancé marks a true border between Brittany and Anjou. This strategic position earned him the double name of "Porte de l'Anjou and Marche de Bretagne". Being one of the 32 closed cities of Anjou, it has preserved part of its medieval walls and some of its access doors.
Rural village, located on the borders of Anjou, at the crossroads of 4 departments, Pouancé remained far from the urban agitations of the great surrounding agglomerations that are Angers, Nantes and Rennes.
