Its northern part is crossed by the Montdenier massif and the commune is also crossed by the Baou. And the walk begins with the ridge road. This 24-kilometer scenic drive along the crest of the Grand Canyon is dotted with no less than 14 lookouts, whether by car, motorcycle or bicycle. A view over the canyon awaits you and views that open onto breathtaking panoramas. Among the best known, the Dent d'Aire, the Escalès or the Carelle will leave you speechless. But La Palud-sur-Verdon is also discovered in hikes. You will then see places of rare beauty where nature is totally preserved. Several mountain guides are at your service to make you discover their beautiful country. If you like originality, one of them offers guided tours by singing. There is no shortage of nature activities. Also you can choose to try canyoning in the waters of the torrents, climbing on unique sites or paragliding to discover the commune of the sky. For those who want to discover everything at the same time, you are offered the aquarando. A mix between hiking and canyoning to visit the most remarkable places of the canyon in a fun and sporting atmosphere. You can also choose the equestrian hike to go on the marked trails. And to catch your breath between two adventures, a ride by electric bike is essential. Lovers of fishing can throw their line in the waters of the surrounding torrents.

Discovery activities are also on the program of your stay. Your artisan baker welcomes you around his oven to introduce you to the art of kneading bread and offers to cook your own baguette and your meal in his wood-burning oven. L'Ecole Buissonnière welcomes you to discover local flora and fauna, as well as local producers during naturalist outings. Finally, the House of the Gorges du Verdon welcomes you in its ecomuseum and trains you to the discovery of its inheritance through exhibitions and conferences.

Events and festivities

Every Sunday morning, the market takes place on the village square. In a convivial atmosphere, the local producers make you discover their products. Vegetables, cheeses, meat and fish compete for your favors. You will have enough to fill your basket while enjoying the warm welcome of the inhabitants. It is the place where one discusses and where one finds oneself around delicious and appetizing dishes.

For a week around August 15, the feast of Our Lady of the Green Valley is held. On the program of the festivities, tournament of foot, parties of petanque, contest of cards. The children will be delighted with plenty of games for them. In the evening, the ball will be animated by the orchestra and the festival ends with the traditional aïoli on the village square.

On the 14th of July, it is rather the paella that is in the honor before beginning the festivities leading to the evening ball.
