La Giettaz

Baroque in style, the church of Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens was rebuilt during the 19th century on the site of an old 15th century building. Inside, you can admire very beautiful 19th century wall frescoes by Giacobini, as well as statues and altars of Baroque inspiration as well. Outside, do not miss the very beautiful onion bell tower with superimposed lanterns.

A small museum on local life is open every Friday morning in season as part of the visit of the village or by reservation.

Gathered at the resorts of Combloux, Le Jaillet / Megève and Cordon, La Giettaz offers enthusiasts more than one hundred kilometers of slopes most often classified as red. It is also part of the large Evasion Mont-Blanc domain known for its 445 kilometers of slopes. Surrounded by spruce forests, amidst lush flora, the family resort offers an idyllic setting to relax and enjoy the surrounding natural heritage. Several hiking trails also allow you to appreciate the surroundings.

• Every last weekend of the winter season, the resort hosts the Aravis Snow trail, a pedestrian race on packed snow.
• In June, Aravis Bike Tour, a week centered on cycling and its pleasures.
• The last Friday of July takes place the gourmet walk in the mountain pastures (with presentation of heritage in all its forms).
• The Fête des Alpages offers its activities every year on August 15th.
• On the first Sunday of September, the Trail-Marathon "La Grande Bambée" takes place.
• In January, March, July and August, the "Unusual Breaks" take place, events highlighting heritage in an original and original way.

• Two short, fairly rolling passes to kick off the week : Croix Fry and Marais. You can then enjoy the peace and quiet of the country route to Les Rippes, lined with fruit trees. You will then complete the route via Héry to Ugine.

• Some local pass hunters have managed to get a sign put up : "faux col des cyclotouristes", even though it's not a geographical pass ! To be tested, then Bizanne 1500 will follow - participants in the 2020 critérium du Dauphiné still remember it !

• A Traversée des Aravis as we like them on the roads of the Tour de France 2023. Between Savoie and Haute Savoie, you will be able to adapt your gear according to the percentage while enjoying the landscapes, the mountain pastures and the herds.

• The Col de la Colombière is a tough mountain pass. The Tour de France climbs it regularly. Despite the setting, the chalet perched at the top of the pass doesn't seem far away, but still… it will take a few pedal strokes, and above all, not giving up…
