Considered the oldest sanctuary in La Flèche, the Notre-Dame des Vertus chapel still reveals today a very beautiful Romanesque porch from the 11th century in white stone rubble and russet sandstone restored by the Jesuits in the 17th century. Inside, visitors can admire interesting furniture dating from the Renaissance to the 19th century, as well as woodwork classified as a Historic Monument, such as the Muslim warrior's door from the 15th century.
The entire Notre-Dame des Vertus chapel benefits from registration in the additional inventory of Historic Monuments. It consists of a single nave with two side chapels and a choir with a flat three-sided apse.
The decor is magnificent, including a collection of paintings from the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as ceilings covered with a paneled vault on which hearts and plant motifs are painted.
Work of a master glassmaker from Sarthe, Antoine Lusson, the stained glass windows are also admirable. Made in the middle of the 19th century, they notably represent the four cardinal virtues as well as the presentation of Mary in the Temple.
