Listed as a Historic Monument since the 1920s, the church of La Chapelle-Vaupelteigne seduces with its Romanesque door flanked by two columns with cross-shaped capitals. The latter is completed by a semi-circular trefoil portal with a flowered cross and an archivolt with spirals. This is an exact copy of the entrance door to the Saint-Martin collegiate church in Chablis. It was probably made by the same sculptor as this one in the second part of the 12th century.
The church of La Chapelle-Vaupelteigne also has the particularity of being the oldest building in Yonne due to the unity of its architectural style.
